These thieves are Pros

You put iMacs in classrooms, lecture rooms, conference areas and business centers  because they’re attractive & capable, and because your clients like them. They're like money sitting in the open.

Security cables or plates will lock down computers, but thieves can rapidly sever cables or smash up furniture to which you tethered them. You hope it'll stop opportunistic thieves. And that might be true. But the people most likely to hit you are pros who scout, plan, and bring tools.

Defensive measures alone aren't enough.

Sonic Shock is an

Offensive Defense

Thieves Fear Noise

Theives want to blend with the floor.  They don't want you to NOTICE them, recall when they were there, who they were, what they looked like.

Toxic for Thieves

Noise, any unusual noise at all, attracts attention thieves don't want. Most pros just walk away, which is what you want. You don't want to catch anybody; you don't want anybody doing anything worth catching.

Pain in the butt to pry off

High grade Stainless Steel, spot welds, and polycarbonate mounting plate, all affixed with industrial methyl methacrylate structural adhesive to that robust iMac stand. If they get it off, what's left won't sell for much. And they can't just remove the iMac base – on current models the only way to get it off is to gut the machine.

More potent than Physical Security

Cables are quickly cut, or whatever they're tethered to busted up. Sonic Shock isn't a cure for cancer, but if cables alone worked, you wouldn't be reading this.

But not a Pain in your butt

ZERO false alarms. You can bump into it, hit it with a mallet,  move a computer around within range of the 10 foot/3 metre tether, nothing. No low battery beeps: the battery will last 5 years and is easy to replace. You can get all your alarms keyed alike. And if you buy more, you can still get that same key code.

Security can be pretty

You can place the alarm so it's quickly visible to everyone, or mount on the backside so it's not easily seen either from the back or the front. Either way, it blends in. Ugly doesn't stop thieves. Just looks ugly.

No place to attach the Sensor?
Our Anchor Point Sensor creates one

Instead of the Standard supplied sensor you can specify the Anchor Point Sensor. Peel-n-stick it on the side of desk, underside of a table, or even another piece of equipment. It has a detector switch in case someone tries to pry it off, and the inside is booby trapped in case thieves try to break it open.

Technical features

5 Year Battery Life

It'll take 50 years for monitoring alone to drain the battery, but we suggest replacing at 5 years anyway, sooner if an alarm has sounded for a while.

2 Hour Siren

Thieves can't just wait it out. Once triggered the alarm doesn't stop until you shut it off or the battery dies – with the Sonic Shock 5 it's two hours at full volume, many more hours at lower volume.

Many alarms | One key

You can get all your alarms coded to the same key code. And if you buy additional alarms, even years later, you can get the same key code. Won't cost extra or take longer because it's a "custom" order. Every order we do is custom.

Changeable Core Locks

If ever your keys become compromised, you can change the lock cores to a new key code. We sell new cores for a nominal charge. If you wish to send us your old cores, we will buy them back for the same price.

Reusable

If you replace equipment, you can reuse the alarm simply by buying a new baseplate. We stock and offer parts for reasonable prices for every model we've ever sold – even for models 20 years old.

World's Strongest Glue

Mounting plates are affixed with the same 2-part methacrylate adhesive, used commercially for things that must not come apart: trucks, cars, autos, and orthopaedic bone surgery. There are cheaper and easier adhesives competitive products use. Easier for thieves too.
